As a pet lover, I certainly can appreciate our many clients who simply can’t imagine leaving behind their beloved pet.  Well, there is good and bad news.  Let’s get the bad news out of the way first.  Most islands have quarantine regulations so it’s impossible to bring your pet as the animal would wind up being quarantined for weeks, if not months.  The other bad news is that most villa owners either will not accept pets or are very strict on weight and size limits.  The good news is there are a few islands that do not have any quarantine regulations so you can bring your pet with you just as you arrive.  Additionally, there are a fair amount of villa owners who will let guests bring their pets, depending upon the breed and size of the animal.

The destinations that will permit you to bring your pet without any quarantine regulations are Grand Cayman, St. Martin, St. John and St. Thomas.  Keep in mind that the even the villa owners that will permit you to bring your pet usually will require a higher security deposit.

So if you simply cannot imagine a vacation in the Caribbean without your beloved pet, let your experienced Travel Keys agent know the specifics and they will help you select a property in a destination that is pet-friendly.

Happy Travels!
